Scaled Gradient Nails

Hey everyone, I finally did a SUCCESSFUL curved scaled gradient today and I am on cloud ninth. Trust me, this is scary technique.

It took me one week and three unsuccessful attempts before this... phew!. Every time I did the gradient, I screwed up on the proper gradient distance or gradient or the shape....and the list goes on. Just looking at my nails I can say that there are way more layers than a normal manicure :D But oh well, all those layers made it pretty! 

For this manicure, I used China Glaze Happy Go Lucky (my favorite yellow creme) as a base on my nails.

To create the gradient, I used China Glaze Happy go Lucky and Desert Sun with a makeup wedge sponge. 

I waited long enough after each gradient layer, which is the key to achieve a clean gradient. 

I also used Seche Vite to speed up the process.

Using a scotch tape and craft scissors I made wave-y patterns. (Make sure to press down scotch tape properly otherwise the polish will leak underneath.)

Then again, I did the second gradient once first dried completely.

To seal off the manicure, I used Seche Vite. 

Seche Vite don't agree with most of my Essie polishes but with China Glaze it works fine. Sometimes it's really annoying to see the amount of shrinkage. But oh well, it worked fine today and I am a happy gal.
