Best Highlighter : Diorskin Shimmer powder – Amber Diamond

Girls have always been fascinated with diamonds. Diamonds are supposed to be a girl’s best friend (donno about that!). But I am fascinated in Love with this Diamond.

It is gorgeous; a totally versatile product in my makeup collection.

It is the most amazing finely milled powder highlighter.  It gives the skin such a beautiful glow without screaming out "she's wearing highlighter on her face!"
This shimmer powder consists of five colors in varying sizes (ivory/ champagne/ tan/ bronze/ peach).

I use the two lightest colors (the white and beige/gold) with a MAC 188 at the very top of my cheekbones. The two colors together give me the perfect glow (non-makeup look). The golden tones give a sun kissed look to the skin. The color for me is perfect because it is kind of a golden beige neutral tone. It does have shimmer, but the shimmer is subtle and faint.

It looks frosty - but when applied to the cheeks, it's so subtle and it almost becomes one with your skin. It's easy to blend and gives the prettiest glow that's not overpowering. On the fairest skin tone this will appear as a peachy-golden highlight while on darker skin tones it will appear natural shimmery.
When all of the shades are swirled together, it creates a beautiful warm, champagne/tan glow. I have oily skin and provided you apply this in the right areas you won't look like a grease ball.

                                       (different colors: ivory/ champagne/ tan/ bronze/ peach, blended swatch)

I tried comparing it to other highlighters of mine, but it's actually very different than anything I own. (The only thing I could compare is the first strip of color is almost identical to NARS Albatross).

Here are the swatches for Amber Diamond Vs MAC MSF Soft & Gentle Vs NARS Albatross Vs UD Cream Highlight Wicked Vs Maybelline Champagne Fizz Vs MAC Shell Cream base.

Packaging:

This packaging was lust-at-first-sight for me. It comes in a lovely blue case. From most angles it looks dark blue but it turns into vibrant Royal blue when you tilt it. The CD lettering reflects back as a silvery blue. This box comes in a blue velvet pouch. This box has a mirror with the product. It looks gorgeous before you even open it!

How to wear it:
  • This can be worn as a highlighter on cheeks as well as brow bone or inner corner of eyes.
  • For fair beauties this can also work as an eyeshadow.
  • Different strips can be used separately.
From the Website:

What it is:
A magical shimmering pressed powder from Dior.

What it does:
This Spring Dior introduces Diorskin Shimmer Star, a light-filled pressed powder enriched with Jeweled Microdust. These five micro-shimmering tones set off sparks of brilliance, highlighting your complexion. The ultra-fine, super-blendable formula virtually fuses with your skin for a sheer, radiant luminosity.

What else you need to know:
Blend Shimmer Star over the forehead, temples, cheekbones, and chin. It's cased in a chic, petite, mirrored compact and available in two jewel-like powder palettes of pink and bronze shade.

Pros:
  • It is not too frosty.
  • It looks natural (not shimmery) on skin.
  • It blends easily.
  • You don’t need too much. A little goes a long way.
  • The staying power is superb.
  • This does not contain any chemical sunscreen (like ethyl hexyl methoxycinnamate) which MAC MSFs have.
Cons:
  • The packaging is not travel friendly.
